casillas hospital visit
it is so nice to have my sister in town during these first few weeks of gwyneth's life. she was in spain when maggie was born. though i wasn't up to many visitors on friday, it was a blessing to have them there. maggie enjoyed the "big sister" book that they brought for her very much!

update on the four of us
thanks for all of your comments and e-mails and phone calls. we are recovering very well. gwyneth pretty much sleeps most of the time and so do i. maggie is enjoying time with her grandma and likes to hug and kiss her baby. it has been an adjustment for her. she has had a few meltdowns and i would appreciate your prayers for her and for me. steve is being his usual wonderful self! although he could use your prayers as he prepares for his march 9 ordination. that's no small task with 3 women in the house! i'll try to post more pics soon.
love you all.

day 11
just got back from the dr.'s office. we're scheduled to have a c-section on friday morning. thanks for praying. of course, there's always hope that she'll come on her own before then! we are happy with the Lord's leading through all of this and we are thankful for His gracious providences in our lives.
His purposes will ripen fast,
Unfolding every hour;
The bud may have a bitter taste,
But sweet will be the flower.
William Cooper
God moves in a mysterious way
His wonders to perform;
He plants His footsteps in the sea
And rides upon the storm.
Deep in unfathomable mines
Of never failing skill
He treasures up His bright designs
And works His sovereign will.
Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take;
The clouds ye so much dread
Are big with mercy and shall break
In blessings on your head.
Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,
But trust Him for His grace;
Behind a frowning providence
He hides a smiling face.
Blind unbelief is sure to err,
and scan His work in vain.
He is His own Interpreter
and He will make it plain.
His purposes will ripen fast,
Unfolding every hour;
The bud may have a bitter taste,
But sweet will be the flower.
William Cooper

and still no baby...
Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:28-31

crayons everywhere
one of maggie's favorite gifts was crayons and paper from the casilli. she also got crayons to use in the tub in her stocking. she loves them all!
christmas 2
i was sure that maggie would want the "june" doll from "little einsteins." she keeps calling her "annie," though. i was wrong.
the twins' carnival.maggie trying out someone's new scooter. she did NOT like daddy helping!
our last night with the advent candles. maggie enjoyed blowing out the candles every night and learning that Jesus is the Light of the world.
